TraiLD is a project that was sparked from a hobby of mine, which was to visit random websites.

I used to go to domain registrars (mainly Google Domains before the SquareSpace acquisition) and just lookup for random taken domains that I could visit.

But since Google Domains was bought by SquareSpace on 7 September 2023, their website doesn't function in the same way as it used to, where you could just lookup for a name and it would give you a list of domains with that name, and tell you if it was taken or not.

No other registrar has really been the same, since every single one of them uses TLD categorization to sort things and none of them gives you a solid list of websites, which is understandable since they aren't actually listing out available domains for people with hobbies such as mine, but to make it easier for the common folk to buy their own domains.

So I decided that, in this vaccum of registrars that offer the same things as Google Domains did, I would create my own little domain lister, whcih allows you to list taken and not taken domains around the internet.

This project also has the function, which I pretty much never saw in any registrar and I don't see why they would use it, which is to filter not taken domains, leaving only the ones that were taken.

TLD = Top Level Domain

TraiLD = Word combination of trail and TLD

I picked the name TraiLD because I thought of this project as searching for the "trails" of a possible domain name, until you find what you are looking for or something similar
